There were plenty of ‘Cool’ items at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas this year but the one I Loved the most was called Plum.
Plum is an automatic wine chiller and dispenser. This is just what I need for that occasional glass of wine at home. This unit not just chills your wine but will identify the label and chill the bottle to the vineyards specifications. This unit can preserve the wine for up to 90 days (they had to draw the line somewhere, I know of someone who kept a bottle in it for 120 days and they said it was still great).
There is no uncorking the bottle first. The motorized needle will pierce right through the foil, cork (natural or artificial), or even the metal screw caps and then will preserve your wine with argon gas as you drain down the bottle. The unit can handle 2 bottles, each in their own chamber and chilled to the specifications that the bottler recommends, or you can customize the temperature for your own taste.
